An intercity transport strip combined with road and rail east of the city of Yavne:

Routes 410, 42, 410, a section of the Rehovot Bnei Darom railway and the new Yavne Mizrah railway station. This project aims to develop inter-urban infrastructures in the east of Yavneh, from the direction of Highway 42, Highway 410 and the railway from Rehovot.

As part of urban development and the construction of new residential projects, it was decided to improve accessibility for the massive urban development and expansion. As part of the project, a new road system, interchanges, track and train station will be built, which will serve the residents and workers in the area

All the above mentioned comprise a challenging railway project comprise with development and construction of new railway station under a live railway traffic and an active train station.

Project Information:

As part of the concept of creating an alternative railway corridor to the coastal railway line, the Ministry of Transport initiated the eastern rail project,  which is a central axis crossing and parallel to the coastal railway line between Hadera and Lod. Israel Roads company share in the project is about 50 km of double line with 4 operational stations between Hadera and road 57. This project includes 4 new control rooms, reallocating communication and signaling cable lines on the Remez station junction, Electrification, Railway communication and signaling, Wireless communication and signaling systems.

  • The project includes the upgrading of road 410 – to a two-lane road with a length of about 4.5 km.
  • Road 4102 – upgrade to a two-lane, two-lane road with a length of about 2.5 km, between the entrance junction to Moshav Baniya and the connection to road 4.
  • Construction of 2 interchanges – Yavne North and Yavne South on the new Highway 410, and level separations.
  • Doubling and electrification of an active railway with a length of about 4 km. The new railroad will pass through the area at level nestled between two Route 410 routes, while regulating the access roads to the station. This building will create a continuous and safe transition between the existing city and the new neighborhood that will be built as part of the plan to the east.
  • Construction of a train station on the upper level, and on the lower level 4 platforms and 4 tracks.
  • Massive relocation of approximately 5 km of infrastructure outside of the planned inter-city transportation strip, including energy, electricity and water lines (Ktsa’a, 59′, Mekorot and Hai’i), in order to move them away in a bypass around the residential areas.
  • Construction of a new interlocking building designated to support the signalling system at the new four-line train station.
